The Best Beaches To Take Your Camper Van From Puerto Vallarta

Mayto Beach Camping

Mayto - South of Puerto Vallarta 2.5 hours, Mayto has a big bay, beautiful scenery, and is super tranquil. There is plenty to do and explore along the way. There is also a perfect spot to park your camper van and watch the sunset in a hammock. Read more here.

Playa Corrales - A three hour drive south of Puerto Vallarta, Playa Corrales is nestled at the southern tip of Banderas Bay. This beach is known for it's awesome seafood, rocky picturesque landscapes, and an old lighthouse dating back to 1902.

Punta Perula - 2.5 hours south on route 200 from Puerto Vallarta, Punta Perula gives you the benefits of the open Pacific oceans seas. You also get an amazing beach cove that is great for swimming, and other water activities. The nature and crystal clear water make this place a true gem.

Boca de Iguanas - This beach has a terrific camping area and trailer park. Boca de Iguanas is 3.5 hours south of Puerto Vallarta and has all of the amenities you need for a great weekend refuge. There is a lot of activities and sightseeing, great for a family trip.

Sayulita Beach Town

Sayulita - A famous beach bum surfer town. Enjoy a great day at the beach and see what all of the hype is about. Sayulita is one hour and fifteen minutes north of Puerto Vallarta. This town is larger than most beach towns with incredible restaurants, boutique shops, and has a little something for everyone. Here you will get a lot of excitement if you are a social butterfly. The night scene is great with good music and dancing. There are plenty of places to park your camper van to get a good night's sleep.

Guayabitos - Located in Nayarit and 1.5 hours north of Puerto Vallarta. It is a little known paradise. Here you'll get calm seas and a giant bay that seems like a big pool. It has lots of colors, gentle waves, and a plethora of tropical fruits. Guayabitos has great gastronomy for those who are foodies too.

Lo de Marcos - In Nayarit 1.5 hours north of Puerto Vallarta. Lo de Marcos has quiet and narrow streets with lots of colors. If you are looking for something truly authentic Mexican, then this is for you. There are lots restaurants and shops for you to enjoy this fishing town. Many people who visit this town fall in love and wind up buying a home here. Don't say we didn't give you a fair warning.

Playa La Manzanilla - Within Banderas Bay and one hour north of Puerto Vallarta. This beach is a great camping spot with plenty of amenities. The beach is one mile long with a softly sloping topography. The water is shallow and easy to swim in, making it great for young kids and families.

Beach Horse Bucerias

Bucerias - About 40 minutes north of Puerto Vallrata, Bucerias is a great beach town with a lot of culture, soft sand, and a picturesque town. Here you will get a great view of the entire bay. There is a ton of amenities here with places to stay, great gastronomy, as well as plenty of art. Bucerias if easily accessible from Puerto Vallarta with great swimming, tasty beach snacks, and just an all around great beach experience.

San Pancho Nayarit Beach

San Pancho - Is a quaint, sleepy beach town with narrow roads, great food, and a hiking trails. The roads are slightly rough in town, and it makes for a great adventure. It is about one hour from Puerto Vallarta, north of Sayulita. We love this place and cannot get enough. Go for a hike, try the beach clubs, and get to know this small fishing town.

Carrilleros - If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet, and clean beach then Carrilleros is for you. It is about one hour and fifteen minutes north of Puerto Vallarta just across the north tip of Banderas Bay. It is a nice secluded beach with not very man people.
